Cetacaine® Topical Anesthetic Gel is a fast-acting, long-lasting prescription topical anesthetic that is indicated for anesthesia of accessible mucous membrane except the eyes and can be applied directly to the required site. Cetacaine Gel can be used to anesthetize mucous membranes prior to minor surgical procedures or to reduce pain. Cetacaine Gel’s triple-active formula (Benzocaine 14.0 %, Butamben 2.0 %, Tetracaine Hydrochloride 2.0 %) has been proven to be more effective than 20% benzocaine alone* to provide profound anesthesia that your patients will notice compared with OTC 20% benzocaine. The unique pump-top jar controls the amount of Cetacaine dispensed and protects the unused contents to help prevent contamination. To dispense you simply depress the pump top until a small bead of Cetacaine Gel pumps up through the center orifice. 32 g. jar. Rx only.
Cetacaine Gel is available in two flavors, Strawberry and Cool Mint.
Cetacaine is not for injection. Cetacaine is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to anesthetics. Cetacaine should not be used in patients with congenital or idiopathic methemoglobinemia.
